The other local FGT owner I know well has about 9000 miles on his car and at least 3/4ths of those miles were on the track. He hasn't had any problems either other than extra wear and tear on the brakes. He just replaced the rotors at the end of last year because he noticed some small cracks starting to show up.
Pics from today...

beautiful GT al, nice pics as well.
these cars are pretty bulletproof as far as drivetrain is concerned, especially stock or near stock cars. i believe the tuners don't even change engine internals (or even the clutch!) when TT kits are installed.
the only issues i have heard about are gauge failures (cost around $1500 to replace) if the car is stored on a cheap tender and a couple reports of diffusers sagging.
prices are much more attractive when some miles are on these cars, the "drivers" are where the deals are, im not into the collector cars so i haven't been monitoring the trends as closely but suffice it to say they seem to be holding strong and/or steadily rising.

Good points IIVVX... the Ford GT does have kind of a 'regular' engine/drivetrain from Ford, which makes it much more robust than a lot of its competitors. Similar engines power so many other cars and parts/service are readily available. I think a good bit of the allure of this car is that it is a proper mid-engine exotic, but much easier to maintain than most.
