Yes they are as official as it gets. They use the same equipment used for the Texas Mile as well as the Olympics.

I thought the Lambos did really well for the first time running the Texas Mile. I think they have a lot of room for improvement. When Supras first went out they were only clocking low 200s than eventually went well over 246mph+, Ford GTs were doing about 210 than went to 253mph now, Gallardos ran 230-240MPH+ the first time out!

Doubtful, once you pass 225 or so it takes ALOT to push that air....
