Do you know if this was a official sanctioned event?

Yes they are as official as it gets. They use the same equipment used for the Texas Mile as well as the Olympics.

Two other noteworthy records were set at this same event. Worlds Fastest Porsche and Worlds Fastest GTR. Check it out here: http://www.topgunrun.com/

A true congrats to them! That is a noteworthy record as it was extremely difficult for everyone to take down those Supras whom held the record for the last 3-4 years with 18 year old technology.

I have a feeling this record will not last long. There are quite a few cars that come out to the Texas event that are on the 250 mph bubble.

I thought the Lambos did really well for the first time running the Texas Mile. I think they have a lot of room for improvement. When Supras first went out they were only clocking low 200s than eventually went well over 246mph+, Ford GTs were doing about 210 than went to 253mph now, Gallardos ran 230-240MPH+ the first time out!

Bring it out to Bonneville. With the right set up on tires and gearing, my guess is you would be near the 300 mark
