Ford is stepping in the right direction. Less weight (it's still too heavy though) is good, and the looks of the '10-'11 cars are MUCH better then the '05-'09 cars. If the car was 40-45 it would be a steal. But as 50+ I don't see why anyone who isn't a diehard Ford guy would buy this over a base Vette unless they have to have the back seat....

^i doubt the back seat is much of a back seat anyway.. Ultimately, buying a mustang over a vette for 1/2 a back seat at best is a bad decision.. imo.

I'm a big fan of the 2010-11 GT's. $50K for 550HP is a bargain these days. There's plenty of power, all they need to do is focus on weight loss. There is no reason this thing shouldn't be a 4 sec flat 0-60 car.

and not that you would always want adults in the back of a stang, the usable room for things other than large adults is good to have. id take gt500 over a base vette and day and tiime

I have been for 22 straight years, have not missed one yet. I would also take a gt500 over a base vette, but for other reasons. I view the corvette more of a midlife crisis car. Where I live it seems that everyone and their grandparents have corvettes.

Honestly I am thinking about buying a '11 GT with the 5.0 and M6 to use as a daily driver. The crappy magazines are getting low 4's and high 12's out of them and they are dynoing 385-395 at the wheels. Get the premium package, Brembo package and gear package and you are only at about 35K. Add a blower for 4k and you have GT500 beater performance for 10K less. And this is coming from a GM guy....I think a grabber blue GT will look good next to my cyber gray Z.

I love the people that jumped at the 2010 Mustang. No one really did any research on what was coming in '11.

That's a good point. My car doesn't have much of a backseat either (although my friends are always saying it's more comfortable than my buddy's Lexus IS350 sedan) but putting the seat backs down does give me a lot of extra storage space.
