Not impressed with them at all. The car, on the other hand is no doubt a fast piece of kit.
Sounds like hater talk. BMW released I-drive with faults. Lamborghini had hideous issues with the first generation of e-gear. The Cayenne had lemon issues in 04. Mercedes issues a statement that they were going to down-tech future models in the late 2000's because of technical issues. These are all hallowed names in the automotive universe. All of them have released problem vehicles before they were ready. None of them fixed the errors and improved the cars at no cost. This is a landmark disposition. It is easy to criticize this move based on the failure of other manufacturers especially if you have owned one. We have all owned a great car that was followed by an S or some other regrettable newer addition with 10-15 more HP that gave us the taste of regret and disgust. This is truly commendable and somewhat unselfish. When Lambo told everyone how special the first superleggera was did they give the buyers the extra HP to get to 560 the next year? Did they offer you the extra HP when the 560SL came out? Wasn't the previous generation a missile? Why did they need to add the HP to get it to 560. It would seem that those who own Ferraris and Lamborghinis are very threatened by this car. So if the shoe fits then I guess hate it

Incorrect. The car has a mechanical device to pipe in intake noise from the air intake. It is a real noise introduced into the cabin through a "pipe". I believe they are going to provide the option to turn off the pipe through iris.

I wouldn't say the car has bugs and issues. It certainly does not have the ICE system that was promised and a few other niggles. This offer is unprecedented in the automotive industry and for an early adopter very very exciting. Way to go McLaren!

An owner on another forum also mentioned you can change the sound level of the car to pass dB noise limits at racetracks.

Very curious.... The car doesn't have a valved exhaust and isn't particularly loud with the turbos in the way.

That's a detailed first post and it's a shame you're off the mark as you're comparing apples to oranges. I respect the performance but the car's an absolute joke :

It's not lived up to the hype.
They've had to make change after change upon journo's driving the car. These have all been detailed in magazines.
They've released it with systems that are optional, that a customer must purchase and it doesn't even work. That's outrageous.
There were rumors that the initial customer cars that went over 15k had massive engine failures.
The cars have doors that wont open and close properly each time.
They've saturated the market here in the UK and resale clearly reflects the above, well that and the fact that official dealers are being told they can have very few allocations until the end of the year to try and curb the value tanking.

I could literally go on and on.

You don't have the extent of issues present with this Macca upon a release of a new Lambo. I know of at least 5 owners that have had the Macca and sold it within 6 months as a result of all of the above.

They offered the world and presented 75% of it. I don't hate it, in fact i think it's a game changer with it's ride, power and position within the market, however they need to seriously work on their marketing next time around. It's been a huge let down IMO and hasn't done the company justice as it's been released under a cloud of smoke.

I'm with LA Brit on this.

McLaren should never have released the car when they did, it wasn't finished and owners have been giving 5 maybe 6 different dates now when IRIS will be fixed by.

This really is the absolute least they can do.

kinda agree...
they were only able to pull that off without being a huge disaster because of the MP4s breathtaking driving experience...otherwise owners would have most likely been a lot less forgiving

It had a bucket load to start with so why not 25 more..
But still i do not like this car..it lacks a soul, and the design is generic sports car.
You know like those toy cars for kids..and they want to make it look sporty.
Thats what it looks like.
