McLaren MP4-12C to get 25PS upgrade

Seems as if McLaren are upgrading all MP4s with a wee power boost for free along with some more choice bits when the IRIS comes along in October. The 25 horsepower bump now brings the twin-turbo 3.8-liter V8's total output to 618 hp.

"Here's a scan of a letter received today from McLaren Automotive's Managing Director Antony Sheriff confirming that MP4-12C owners will receive a 'free' 25PS power upgrade for their car along with a range of other enhancements including a fully functional Iris system."

 

How cool is that, talk about customer service!!!

 

Great,and they are doing it in vin order.This is just what Mclaren promised,all cars what ever model year will be upgraded so car 1 is the same as car 5000,an industry first and showing they value all their customers

Pretty awesome that they do this, surprised they wouldn't have the optimum mapping from all the testing, but good that they correct it free! What's iris? The computer system?

 

Can you imagine Porsche ever giving away HP without a new version, an up-charge and a terrible trade value?
