Spied: McLaren's New Supercar - The P12
#22
just spoke to my friend who placed my preorder and he confirmed the Monaco GP unveiling or private viewing with delivery for 2013. so far my arrangement is if the car is around 700-800k and not extremely ugly, i am not cancelling my preorder. (or unless i have some unexpected financial difficulties)
it is such a tough choice: i have considered the Huyura and it is a bit tooo pricey and sold out for a while, also imho this car is a solid looking GT, so i'd rather get it in convertible flavour. the porshe 918 is just NO. and the f70 will be priced up there in the 1.5 mil range or so it seems.
anyway looks like i can get my Big Mac in the first batch, and this triggered my decision, i hate to wait. i hope it has a roofscooup and looks out of this world! my dreams were crushed a tiny bit when i learned it would not be a 3 seater though... damn you Mclaren marketing/sales department for that one!!

And im led to believe that they are keen to support those that have supported them from the start, although they dont want to go through the farce that some companies do by making you buy lesser cars to be pushed up the list.So that negates that as they only have one car!!
At the moment there is no list, but they will have a few VIP,s that will get their cars first,as they did with the 12c,many of whom also have f1,s i believe ,but not all!!
As to the price £750 to £800k sterling before options

Simple really, my friens friend is a Mclaren dealer and has 3 cars allocated unofficially, and 1 is mine. But so far nothing formal, but this is how it always works with "pre preorders". And when you are a regular customer, this engagement is pretty firm, at least i or anyone in my family had issues. If u say u buy it, that moment it becomes real. But you really have to know the right person and have good transaction history.
For early cars it is all abou relationships. There are plenty of resellers who have the professional activity of buying early released cars and selling at a premium and a normal customer is at a disadvantage since those people move alot of cars and have great proximity to dealers. For ex, if i went to my local dealer now he would have no info and be in no position to make any promises.
Aaaaaanyway, i know some people who know some pweople who ....
u get the idea. It is silly but this is how it goes. It is like always getting a table at a fully booked trendy club.
Sorry for the boring and somewhat obvious explanation, but it is what it is.

Ferrari F70, Mclaren P12... And why not Lamborghini to enter in this party?
Remember the Aventador mule with Veyron wheels and double exhaust:

I think i need a little though,i know i had the first official 12c on order at a dealership anywhere on the planet, but still ended up getting what was probably the 30th car, although there were at least 20+ vip,s before me. So i hope my request for an F1 dosent fall on deaf ears, because they know it will not become a garage queen and thats not what any of us want i think

Hey, i am not saying i approve this silly game, but the only way to avoid this is a "lexus Lfa" kind of sales approach. And just for fyi my local Mc dealer tried to play the " get the mc now to have the ability to get an early big mac" card. I wish you luck too, and even though i would normally feel bad about cutting the line, this is not the case somehow.
On the other side when people take the risk of making a fairly firm commitment to buy cars in early development stages deserve something in exchange.
Once again, best of luck. I try to be present whenever the car is unveiled, hope u can make it too.
