Spied: McLaren's New Supercar - The P12 4 Attachment(s) Attachment 101452 Spied: McLaren's New Supercar - The P12 Spotted here under a large amount of camouflage, is the next supercar out of Woking, codenamed the P12. Under the shell of this prototype is an updated version of the MP4-12C's carbon-fiber chassis, made from a combination of carbon fiber, titanium, and magnesium. Power is expected to be generated from a radically updated version of McLaren's 3.8-liter V-8 and will be be backed up with the Formula 1 derived kinetic energy recovery system (KERS). Total output is still unknown but we can safely expect somewhere in the region of 900hp. Update 8-27-2012: A few Teamspeed members have been privately shown the new P12. How did we go from like 500hp being a lot to 900hp in just a few years? Seriously, if in 2005 someone asked me how much horsepower a super car has I would have said "about 500". But now, it's like 900-1000. |
I hope they integrate a true F1-style KERS button on the steering wheel! |
