I've just got home after being to the MP4-12C VIP Evening at McLaren in Woking (will post iPhone pics later) and they confirmed this project is happening. Along with a third model to the line-up - though they would not confirm whether it will sit above or below the 12C in terms of positioning/price.

From what I know it would be an entry model.

Central driving is essential for this supercar. Unique and abundant storage (relatively speaking) was always cool to me as well. I would like to see another 3 seater, V12 NA, light weight, with revolutionary construction.
A price tag under $1 million. First come first serve basis. No more favoring a bunch of trust fund oil sheiks and media moguls like Ferrari...give any old rich average joe the opportunity to purchase one.

Gordon left McLaren in the beginning of 2005 when development of the SLR was complete. Since then he has started his own design firm working on projects like his T25 city car and a yet unnamed supercar of his own. It's a very safe bet that he won't be involved with any of McLaren's future projects.

Oooooh I never heard he was designing his own supercar. I've only read about the T25. This excites me. Murray is own of my engineering idols.
