Unlike my friend the comedian from Canada just above, I'd say it is definitely a McLaren F1.

I can also say I don't think I've ever seen that photo before, so its unlikely he's pulling your leg. Usually when people try to make up stories about McLaren F1s they use photos that have circled the globe a few times. Now, are you sure this couldn't be the Manelis car? I'll assume you asked that already.

About the only thing that might help to determine which car it is would be a shot of the interior. Many of them have some unique detail that would allow for a likely/positive ID even on a silver F1. Of course that chassis plate photo would also be a big help, but that's probably out of the question.

These mysteries do always have a way of solving themselves eventually.

Definitely not Peter's car. He confirmed this is number two in the country. I have a funny suspicious feeling that Dr. Johan Rupert purchased this car - then again it's anybody's guess until confirmed.

Where were you when you got to see chassis #028? I see the key was right there, how far did you get before they stopped you?
I was at Infineon Raceway a few weeks ago for the Wine Country Classic vintage races. The owner, Tom Price, was very gracious letting me sit in it and was more than happy to explain what it's like to own and why he loves driving it. I never started up the car as I was too afraid to ask, but my silence in that regard will haunt me for the rest of my life! I should've at least asked for a ride... Oh well. Whose F1 did you sit in?

In the picture of the car in the mirror it was definitely a white Gallardo. I think that it looks like a spider as well.

I added an asterisk next to the number 9 as one of those nine cars (chassis #069) had an owner who reecently chose to have the factory remove the High Downforce Kit and return the car to its original configuration. I was quite surprised to see that occur.

Not all of us...

The full story of that incredible day is recounted here along with many more photos in the gallery:

This was a pretty good day as well...

Cheers everyone!
