25th anniversary? The F1 was first introduced in 1991, which makes it 19 years old. I'm very confused...

 

It was first designed 25 yrs ago, I believe.

 

I'd consider it a mistake. The earliest measure of the F1 project was the original discussion of the project at Linate Airport between the four principles - Dennis, Ojjeh, Creighton and Murray - which took place "On the day after the 1988 Italian Grand Prix" according to 'Driving Ambition', which would have been Monday, September 12th, 1988.

25 years from that is still several years from now. McLaren's press release makes it quite clear they are celebrating 20 years from the original 10 hour boardroom meeting with the team that would develop the car:

I suspect the writer was using some artistic license in his description of the color.

It's on the newsstands in the UK now according to a few. I think it will be a bit longer before we get it here in the USA, but you'd be wise to keep checking.

It's been out in NZ for at least 10 days. So it will be well and truly out in the UK.
