Post Maserati reveals facelifted Quattroporte and Quattroporte S

TheQuattroporte has been on sale in its current guise for almost five years and has managed to rack up more than 15,000 sales in that time. Being one of the most successful models in Maserati’s history, designers weren’t about to drastically change the sedan’s svelte styling so for its latest update the car was only given a minor facelift and several mechanical upgrades.

Changes include a new grille with vertical slats and revised headlights with a strip of LED daytime running lights along their base. The updated car also sports a new character line that runs along the side of the body and around onto the rear panel. The side-view mirrors are also new and feature a more aerodynamic shape than the units on the previous car. New for the 2009 model year is the introduction of the Quattroporte S, which picks up the new 430hp (320kW) 4.7L V8 engine from the GranTurismo S. The standard Quattroporte, meanwhile, sticks with the familiar 400hp (298kW) 4.2L V8 engine from the previous car. Both engines are mated to a ZF six-speed automatic transmission with paddle-shift operated manual modes.

The interior is fitted with a redesigned center console with more buttons located around the central display. A new multimedia system has also been installed. Also new is the addition of ‘Marrone Corniola’ and ‘Sabbia’ leather trim. The facelifted Quattroporte and Quattroporte S will be shown to a number of select customers next month before going on sale in September.

Last years 500hp model looks much more tempting.

Agreed, but I do like this one. Was hoping for a little more drastic but this does do the trick. Love the LED's in the headlights.

although the front still looks a little to "Buick-ey" the rear end molds Arnage/XJ quite nicely.

I like it.

There was a 500 hp model last year?! How the heck did I miss that?! Either way, I really like the minor changes on the new one. Hopefully they'll have a 500 hp version of this one too.
