That's probably true, even in sports mode the Panny still offers a very smooth ride.

Reliability has gone up a lot since getting rid of the DuoSelect. There are a lot of shared components with the GranTurismo so someone who DD's a Mas of that generation (like UBC) could offer some solid feedback.

I am not wild about their Bose stereo interface (I find it hard to use) or the seats (they could be more supportive) but other than that I think they are awesome cars. They are a lot more stimulating than a Pcar, then again, most Italians are in comparison to German cars.

The QP GTS is awesome. Has all the carbon, big brakes, better suspension and sport exhaust of the GranTurismo S. I wouldn't hesitate to have that as a daily.
Thanks for the feedback and I too have been wondering about the reliability improvement on the latest generation. Hoping UBC could chim in as he actually DD's a Mas.

The Mas is not as reliable as a Porsche. There is no question. But I would say that it's been substantially more reliable than I expected. The only issues I have had (knock on wood) were the passenger seat motor not working properly and some minor funkiness with my dash instrument cluster (the later of which is a known issue on my year Mas GTS only). Nothing major and I've DD the car for 35K miles now. Go over to Maseratilife and ask the folks there what they think about the reliability of their QPs.

The reliability almost always came down to the transmission, which changed when DuoSelect was replaced with the ZF 6spd. The number of repairs when down dramatically. We rarely saw any cars coming in for anything other than regular service and minor electronic gremlins like UBC mentions, which are few and far between. This nails it:
