The 3200GT / Coupé came with a 6spd, which I think was what he had, but the GranSport never did. Just had those silly little buttons . . .

Oh the Gransport was the sporty version. Poncy Italians, couldn't they be like everyone else and use a couple of letters to designate the sportier model?!

I have a friend with the Coupe, she made a mistake buying it last year for three reasons: it was almost new and she paid too much, the new model was coming out, the car looks 10x better than it drives (half the time it doesn't engage reverse and she's had countless other issues).
