School me On the M5

Guys i've found a clean 2008 BMW M5

with 35K miles, Meisterschaft Exhaust, red interior, light blue exterior

M6 Rims has a clear bra installed too

The car is beautiful and fits the budget asking is 50K with a year warranty from the dealer

how are they as DD, Maintenance wise?

Super fast four door. SMG is the worst transmission ever fitted to a car, in my opinion. New DCT is light years ahead. I never had maintenance issues. Rock solid vehicle that absolutely gulps fuel.

i Love Amg's but haven't found any clean ones
my sister owns a 2010 SLK 55 AMG and My Brother owns a 2013 C63 AMG

as for the M5 love the V10 Motor and the car is clean, major service was recently done, so fresh fluids

some minor or little scratches that the dealer will fix

thought of the Cadillac CtsV though faster and a newer model 09

im loving the Bimmer more !!

I wouldn't say SMG is the worst transmission ever fitted to a car. I like it in my M3 because it makes you feel really connected to the car for an automatic (semi-auto whatever you want to call it) transmission. Its lightning fast and can be smooth depending on how you drive.

Personally I would stay away from a modded car. M5s are tunable but a lot of bolt ons and a tune wont get you THAT much more power. The car is great already stock in my opinion.

How are you going to use it. Is it a DD?

I dont think that's a concern where he lives.

I would personally go for the M3 DCT.
M5 is starting to look dated.

Newer M3/DCT >>>>> used M5 . In so many ways the M3 is better. I did a 2 day M-school when the new M3 just came out in 2009 and it was unanimously favored by all of us and the instructors over the M5/M6.
Also will get better MPG then 11 hwy.

The fact you are still debating indicates you haven't heard that exhaust setup in person.

True, but I just drove a buddy's '11 CTS-V and jesus that car gets it! Sounds great handles pretty well too. I couldn't get after it on the on-ramps we always had someone in front of us. But he loves it.

I would go for an E-Class AMG or CTS-V, best value is going to be the CTS-V but the E-Class AMG is a bulletproof car.

Tough decisions my man good luck
