Thinking of a e46 m3... advice needed

^ I thought yours was the SG.
PY is not terrible but it's probably my least favorite on the M. But, I like LSB and most people put that behind PY!
Nevertheless, both are special as they were the original colors the E46M was introduced in.

Nope, I had PY, thedude had SG. I know, my dealer even tried to talk me out of ordering PY since he was afraid he wouldn't be able to sell it if I backed out. I've always been a fan of the exclusive M colors: Techno, Byzanz, Estroil, LSB, PY, etc... It's too bad they've toned it down so much.

and in Europe/Canada/ME etc you can get any colour anyway since we get BMW Individual options

I agree. I love Techno and Estoril as well (there are several Estoril E46M's that look great as well!). I like PY for it's exclusivity. An Interlagos ZCP would be a great pick-up, not just an ///M-only color, but ZCP-only!

Back in '03 I remember a guy on one of the BMW forums painting his car "Shadow Chrome", which was the original E46 M3 Concept car's color. Looked AMAZING!

Yeah Chrome Shadow is cool, too. Is that also the CSL color?
Silver Gray (03.5+) is the closest OEM color, but falls short IMO. A little bland. I liked Steel Gray a lot.
Oxford/Cinn is a lot a cool and underrated combo.
