Spied: 2013 BMW M6 Coupe & Cabrio testing in North America

Here are the best pictures yet of BMW’s new M6 in both, coupe and cabrio form. The cars are rumored to become true Audi R8-fighters when they will hit show rooms in autumn this year. Equipped with the sophisticated 4.4-litre bi-turbo V8's from the X5 and X6 M versions, the new M6’s motor will develop close to 580 hp.

The cars were snapped in the U.S. desert earlier today, and our Teamspeed shooter was able to get a glimpse of the interior, too. Both prototypes were was riding on giant 20-inch wheels, and we reckon that yet bigger ones will be available as options...notice the brakes, they are huge!

Hitting show rooms this year??? I thought not until next summer as 2013 models? Hey, the earlier the better though!
