Singapore has it bad, over here we're looking at $150,000 USD.

That's terribly ridiculous! I would move haha. In Colombia the taxes are pretty high as well, but nothing compared to that. I would figure on paying 110k for a Landcruiser, and about 300k for a Cayenne Turbo. I can buy a diplomatic plate from an ambassador and that would significantly reduce the import price. Can you do something similar in S.A. or SIngapore?

mtechnik referred me to a dealer and even with a couple of options its still under 50K. I can pass the contact info along if you'd like.

Now that would be a helluva present!

I really like the car, small and powerful.
The only dissapointment is that's a little bit too heavy for what I've expected

Dana, whatever your son did in "the incident" may have saved his life. The 1M would be an awful lot for many young people to handle.

Anyways, this car is dope and makes me nearly drool on my keyboard.

BMW managed to make the 1 M slightly lighter than a 135i (3373 lbs for manual). A M3 coupe weighs in at 3704 lbs for comparison. Weight savings came mostly from going with a metal roof - saves 35lbs over 1-series with moonroof - and the lightweight aluminum M3 suspension components. Dr. Segler said BMW was on a strict budget for the 1 M project.

The 1 M was just independently weighed by Axis of Oversteer. It came to about 3350 lbs with a full tank of gas.

I currently drive 135i and I've driven just about every new BMW model except for a X3 and 7 Series hybrid. My 135i piles on speed like a motha. I can't imagine what a little extra boost will feel like with a more buttoned down suspension and about the same weight as my 135i.
