Nice to see they integrated the I-drive screen so seamlessly into the dashboard.

Does anyone know when these will hit U.S. dealers? Hopefully my dealer has some kind of unveil party.

thats a nice looking little car, but i cannot imagine the target buyers though...

They should start showing up at dealers this spring. They usually get a demo for the manager to drive before the customers cars start coming in. Official production starts in May. No doubt the 1 M will be popular and BMW already has a lot of orders in and ready to go.

I happen to feel the 1 M reasonably and fairly priced with a base of $47,010. A base 2011 135i starts at $39,925 including destination. You're basically getting a BMW M3 chassis with a nonadjustable tuned Competition Package suspension packed under a mean looking 1-Series body with better aerodynamics and a unique interior. Of course options like ZCV Convenience Package (iDrive navigation...) ZPP Premium Package (power front seats, ambient lighting, auto dimming mirrors, bluetooth, usb port iPod...) will put you over $50. But those are not must-have options. Think of this as a comparison. A new 335is coupe (same engine as 1 M coupe) starts at $50,150. A new M3 coupe starts at $58,900. And that's without destination and gas guzzler. Then throw some options into those bad boys, and they're up to 60 to 70 plus thousand.

Dana, get one for your son.

I would love a black one if I had to choose. I love the new thick led light bars in the tail light.
