The M6 is beautiful and fast. However, it is not a track car. It is a brick with a great engine and a cool heads up display. I had a demo with a professional driver, then drove it. Then decided not to buy one. It would make a fabulous GT -- a real pavement eater.

Its not quite an office building! Its barely heavier than an M3!

However, other responses have helped me make up my mind, I'm back onto 911 vs z06

lots of cheap Z's in texas, plenty of shops too. you can have LG prep one for you.

i wouldn't underestimate the z4m especially the coupe...the handling characteristics are better then that of the e46 m3( i have owned both) and the z4m was much more nimble, handled better, just did all performance aspects better..

look, if you want a proper foray into track work get a C5 Z06. cheap to buy, cheap to run, and you will learn a lot. that motor is FUN, you don't want anything slower than that.
