Would you buy at a $21k dealer mark-up?

I wouldn't buy one for 40k, just doesn't appeal to me as a sports car , new M3 didn't excite me either. PLUS it's worse when the GTR isn't living up to the HYPE in the recent one lap of america too, they can keep it LOL!

I will buy one if available at no mark-up. It is so inexpensive, why not? Great for daily use, can park anywhere, I don't mind it's look either.

I had the opportunity to do so a little while ago and I have to say the car is brilliant. All this from a person who is a serial 911 buyer. I have ordered a 911 S facelift but this car has me questioning that decision. I would agree that the car is no match for my Porsche in terms of looks, but for most other things it’s a real match. In terms of build quality its more 996 than 997 but I would not be disappointed if one landed up on my drive. Like it or not, the GTR has arrived and shaken up the traditional Porsche marketplace. And all for the price of a Boxster

As for Hype? Look at the links from very respected journal sources.

Autocar Videos - Autocar.co.uk

YouTube - Fifth Gear: Nissan GT-R

Both Chris and Jason really know how to handle a car, Jason being a saloon car champion.

My £75K 911 order is looking like poor value right now. I suppose its not for you if you need to drive a badge though!

I personally like this car. Its not Ferrari, Porsche or lambo....its Nissan JAPANESE.

The car looks good and reviews are great. I called my LAD here that has 2 allocations. One is sold. I was told I could buy this car for September Delivery.. IF I pay for the car IN FULL NOW.

I can buy a 612 Scag Fully Loaded from my AD here for $5,000 down, Fully Speced car, pay for it when it comes in.

ANYONE that pays over for this car is ****ed. Especially in this economy. Its not a Ferarri.

At msrp, 5K down, delivery July-September....COUNT ME IN. Otherwise F*&% IT.

The car is awesome and a steal at $75k. However, I am still not in enamored by its sytling. I hate the PS3 screen, and the weight is pathetic. I would defintely pay $90k for the V spec version if it weighs 3500 lbs. However, the $90k need to be MSRP. I absolutely refuse to pay over sticker for a car.

I received a call from the GM of the local Nissan place asking if I was really SURE about not wanting a GT-R... So I asked what the markup was.

$27,999

Uh, dude, I don't think so. As my British friends say, "You must be taking the piss, mate!" He tried to assure me that was cheap and that some dealers are charging $80K (!!!!!!!!!!) markups. Errr, dude, it's a NISSAN.

Yes, and chances are it wouldn't look like complete crap, and would be built in very limited numbers, hence justifying the drive-one-now markup somewhat.

Nissan built a very fast, very ugly car for a market that wanted something that resembled the R34 in more than just its tail lights, then priced it way, way out of its class.

I'd pay 90k for a tweaked to hell R34 or even an R33, as the cars look interesting, and while technical showcases, still allow a driver to have some fun. However, I wouldn't pay $50k for this thing.
