I was watching a youtube video of LFA at Irvine C&C.


Just realized that LFA uses a prop rod for the engine hood. For nearly $400k, why didn't they use some struts? The rod makes the car look like a Civic.

 

But hey, it is made out of carbon fiber.

 

For weight savings.

 

Probably to save weight there champ.

 

In a car as complicated as the LFA, how many owners will ever open the hood to do anything other than look or fill up the washer fluid? (Here's a hint, you can probably count them on one hand.)

 

I was thinking to show off the V10 actually. But I guess it's all covered with plastic crap in typical Lexus fashion.

To the left of the screen the hood rod appears vaguely throughout the clip, hard to see but it is there. To be honest who cares if it uses a rod, it is still an amazing car, and I am glad Lexus at least went out of its way to create a supercar. The LFA is definitely one of my favorite supercars to date. If it was a limited-active production car, I wouldn't mind getting one. I just have to make the $400k first haha.

Well in this case, the LFA is like an Enzo then.
