I don't buy cars for looks. If I did, I'd have an Aston Martin V8 Vantage 4.7L right now instead of a Carrera 4S. Same goes for my Evo, my S2000s... I guess that's why I think the Audi Sport Quattro is sexy.

As far as the LFA goes, I'd argue that no other manufacturer makes a bespoke supercar at that price point. There are no shared parts, no corporate engine, no Lexus LS door handles, etc. It's not a variation or evolution of a previous model. That's part of the reason I the new McLaren as a similarly bespoke car. Given the reputation for Lexus quality, service, and its obvious performance, I'd say the LFA will be a long-reminisced car. Think of it like the Supra Turbo for rich guys...

Rest assured that this is not what I am trying to do, and I certainly didn't mean to argue the LFA's merits. Further, my second comment to offer up some explanation was certainly not what I should have written. For that, and for the misunderstanding, I apologize. etc etc
excellent post.

well put chris, i can certainly see the supra parallels. honestly, it's a fantastic bit of kit and i just find it silly that so many people bash it who will likely never even see one in the flesh.

to dismiss a car out of hand due to the looks alone signals to me that that person is no enthusiast.

^I'm about as enthusiastic about cars as anyone. I have to like the car to want one. Is it fast? Well yes it is but the SSC is fast as well. Am I not an enthusiast because I don't like the 458? I'm sure it's an insane car. If I don't like the Ksegg? SSC? If I really think Zonda's are too over done? Though a few of them just look fantastic.

I care about handling more than almost anyone I know and I feel I know a touch about the characteristics of many cars. The LFA does nothing for me, not even in white I for one don't ever care to see one. If I do, I do and if I don't, I don't my view will always be the same. More power to anyone that buys one and likes it.

It's still extremely odd to me that Lexus claimed 350 sold out before most even knew the cars exist yet we've yet to see anyone that has one. This is truthfully the first car I've seen that was actually leased/purchased on any website and like I said before. The guy gave it away.

I want to win the lotto just to buy an LFA and blast past Mark's house at 9K rpm... The sound alone will change his mind (or have him call the cops).

shut up mark i wasn't referring to you.

we all know you're an enthusiast, my point is that even if someone thinks a car is ugly it doesn't mean that the car is shit as well. looks alone don't define an automobile imo.

the reason they had to do digital gauges is because a traditional needle wouldn't be able to keep up with the motor right?
