I haven't driven one but I admire the technology behind the 8spd transmission, even if it's not a manual.

With a DCT this car would be amazing. I have driven one and was very pleased with the overall package. The fit and finish of the car, the engine note, etc. But I would certainly take a M3 over it. If it had a DCT, the decision would be very difficult. The addition of the LSD does make it very enticing though!

Stomps the sh!t sir!!

I'll still try to drive an updated IS-F, however, I drove one after they first came out and wasn't really impressed. That car doesn't need eight gears IMO.

Why a DCT. The current transmission shifts faster and is much smoother at low speeds. Not to mention that DCT transmissions are not known to hold much power.

The M3 looks much better.

i agree wholeheartedly regarding the manual gearbox but we are in the minority nowadays. hell, ferrari won't even offer one anymore.
I know LSD is a big deal, I just find it funny that my little 1988 325is has one, and lots of modern supposed "sports" cars don't have them.

And I am sorry, a slushbox is a joke. Put in a real transmission then maybe Lexus would have something. After they fix the fake exhaust cutout's that is.

Comes down to preference but the M3 is a very good looking car. I was very close to buying one until i drove one and noticed how slow they were from a roll. I really liked the car though. Drove great and is a sexy car. But at the end of the day i wanted a car that would keep up with a few of my friends.
