In four years it will be a $100K car. Take a look at the depreciation on the SLR, which was similarly limited in production numbers and had similar performance. That was a $460K car and the 2005s are now selling for $190K. And that's a car with a real pedigree.

lol.....

that`s just some promotion crap to get them a place in the exclusive part of the exotic car scene...

After all,Lexus is still a company that has to make money ,e.g earn more than they spend
so if a person tells them he`ll pay a great premium on top of the 350k to call it his own they won`t say f you...for sure

the whole application thing is a joke
nobody, especially the people who live an exclusive lifestyle and appreciate privacy, would get down to the level to let Lexus(not Bugatti or Ferrari..) tap into their privacy just to be accepted as a buyer
Lexus won`t do that either...just some shit they told the public to lighten up their image.

I do not believe you will have to pay a premium on top of the 350k.

So what Lexus USA is doing is creating a special lease arrangement in which the company will retain the LFA's title for two years before turning it over to the owner. That's not a traditional lease model involving deposits and finance arrangements, it's just being called a "lease" because "customers will arrive at a private deal with the company about how much they're going to pay and when (always totaling the identical total price), then the company will turn over the title after two years" takes up too much space.

But thats the point we're making. Typical clients of these sort of cars don't really like companies telling them what they can or cannot do with their cars. Especially if the client technically has the car paid in full.

Genius.

Extremely ambitious, but genius.

I guess time will tell if it was extremely ambitious or too ambitious, but it's definitely worth following ... although I'm unsure how one would measure the impacts on Lexus as a brand.

I'm actually leaning for it being a success. The poseurs will LOVE the status and exclusivity, the screening adding even more to it. But it is just that, a poseur's car, a status tool.

When depreciation hits it across the face like Tiger Woods with a 9 iron, all us car enthusiasts will be all over it.

I just hope that when Lexus says "right roads and right restaurants" they are thinking Sunset Blvd and Urasawa ... not Laguna Seca and some obscure burrito fast food joint.

I'm pretty sure any multi-millionaire who's looking for the latest and greatest wouldn't mind setting back 350k for a V10 GTR.

Latest, sure, but certainly not all that great of a car if you think about all the other cars you can get for the money that offer more performance, look better, or are more exclusive. Add on top of that a brand that has no prior experience building sports cars and you have a pretty small group of people who would consider owning one. Comparing this car to the GTR isn't doing either vehicle much justice.

Maybe I am just being optimistic, but I think that there are enough wealthy people that will plunk the cash for it. Enough to sell out 500 at least... dunno where the market for them will go from there?

JashaanAutosport is an unknown quantity at this point
surprisingly.... people will be crazy enough to lease it just for the hell of owning such an exclusive car...
