WRX STI or EVO X MR ?

I am greatly considering the purchase of either a 2010 WRX STI or EVO X MR. I am looking for some advice from forum members on which one to choose.

Johnny

Daily driver with the the likelihood of mods. I have the Hamann Boxster featured on the boxster/cayman forum. So mods are definitely in the forecast.

Evo X MR - Looks 10000000x better. Way more options. Main downside - Doesnt come in a 6 spd manual.

I agree with you on the issue of the MR's transmission. After a test drive, I was left with very mixed feelings on the twin-clutch system. It struck me as being nothing more than a glorified automatic. However, I must disagree with you on the looks of the STI. I found it to be a much better looking vehicle in person than most photos depicted it as being . In fact, its really started to grow on me.

Just not a huge fan of the 4 door hatch... But thats just my opinion

I owned a 05 WRX Stage 2 - So I'm not Mitsubishi Biased either.

Either one is good... The Evo, like all Evos, is super mod-friendly. If you're going to mildly mod it, get the STi. If you're going to make it a beast, get the Evo. Evos also like to turn in better than Subies as a general rule.

The new STi's are really growing on me as well, though I still prefer the Evo for some reason, I really like the way it drives for a DD. Of course, I chose a 370Z so I can't really talk, but I would have fancied the Evo if I needed back seats and AWD.
