My GT-R
#41
I wanted to share a difference of opinion regarding the 996 gt2 vs GT-R. I've had the priveledge to have driven my GT-R on Daytonas Rolex set up and managed a lap time of 2:08. I'm by no means a professional driver but did very well, I did not lap the Rolex in my ex GT2 but can assure you that it will not come close to that time.
no controversy intented just my .02

I find that very hard to believe as I stock 996's (No engine mods, only suspension) were running 2:09's around Daytona In-Field @ the Club Race.

Josh, I think you might be one of the few GTR owners who bought it for reasons other than being able to show off to all your ricer friends and tell everyone how your car is faster than cars that cost 3x more than it.

That may likely be the case. Reading some of the GT-R forums like Nagtroc is a nauseating experience to say the least. Most of the people on there are clueless followers with the IQ of a doormat. I've had a lot of cars over the years, and I've always tried to be a part of the community for each marque I've had. I have to say, that without a doubt, the GT-R/Japanese import community is the worst I've ever encountered. I could see someone passing up this awesome car for that reason alone. It is THAT bad.

I completely agree. A lot of people think that because a car costs money it's better than some other car. I don't know about you guys, but I think there's a good chance I would pick a scud over a veyron.

Go drive one. Fortunately, we have this forum here with good people. We just need to get more GT-R owners on it.
