Have not been on TS in about a year; first thing that I come across is this thread -- AWESOME. If you have not already done so, join Strava | Running and Cycling GPS Tracker, Performance Analytics, Maps, Clubs and Competition to track your rides and keep you motivated. It will show your segments and then time you against others.

If you would like, for even greater motivation, I can open you up to my FB cycling group.

Here is a picture of me with one of my road bikes

By the way, about 2 weeks ago, I almost bought the big one doing 35 mph on a descent on Glendora Mountain Road

Here's the video.

Is there any particular reason your back tire was slipping out like that?

Yeah I run 780's on my DH bike. I went from 680 - 710 - 735 and eventually 780 over the period of a couple years from about 2008 - 2010. No going back when the aim is to be going fast. Although on an all mountain rig I can't justify going wider than about 740-745 ish as they are too impractical for climbing and tight trails.

If I did not do that power slide to slow down, there would be no me.

I "drifted" when I braked while at the same time putting weight on the back wheel -- before braking, most of my weight was on the front, notice the tuck; I was carrying too much speed into the corner and tried to slow down too quickly. Hence, I went into a power slide.

Working on it, I gotta get out of the frozen tundra and back to civilization. Gonna look at bikes next week.

I just saw this.

I've no clue how anyone could ride an Aluminum bike anyway. They are so soft you can shift gears if you crank too hard up a hill. I can't stand that.

My Ti bike is easily the most comfortable bike I've ever ridden. I can't stand rigid anymore. You guys can have your 13lb CF bikes I think they ride like shit.
