I have two new gyms in my neck of the woods that are all superfresh and one is on campus (=alot of hot wimmenz) but I can't see myself change. When I'm at the gym I want to stay fully focused on the mission of lifting weights.

Yeah, I miss my old gym too. Chalk ok, squat suit ok, slapping your workout partner ok, 900+ lbs ok.

New gym, no squat rack at all and a sign on the wall that says no grunting or swearing. :/

You joined planet fitness? I refuse to call that place a gym

Nah, I would never do that. No place that sounds an alarm and kicks you out when you actually put out some effort gets my $$. It's one of the bellevue community centers. I mostly work out at home but this place has the kid gym and zumba for the wifey. I use the gym there once or twice a week when I go with them.

Once I buy a place I'll get a rack set up in the basement as it should be.

Join Crossfit. I think there's one near you, Steve.

The thing about crossfit is I like to do my own programs, tailored around my needs. And just to be clear, my needs these days are often working around my injuries. I'm also very competitive, so if someone challenges me to do something I'll probably kill myself trying. I think for that reason I'd collect injuries pretty quickly at a crossfit gym.

Also at $2700 a year I'd just buy this:

It was just a suggestion, Steve. There are a few guys who come in and do their own exercises in the other room or work around us. They oftentimes either do that or do the WOD with the class whenever they feel like it. It's also a good way to expose yourself to new types of exercises. I've learned so many new types of exercises in the time that I've been going there. I know that I could never go to a "community" type of gym. I did when I was in college and no thanks...not for me.

Everyone has their own needs and ways of getting things done. Crossfit works for my needs/lifestyle at the moment.
