Well I do look cute in a skirt, but that's besides the point.

I may be the cheerleader, but that's no worse than saying the motor has no merit with some bobs and bits to make it go faster. 4 Years from now we may be saying it was a marvel or a mistake. In that aspect, I can't argue, so we'll have to wait and see.

lets hope ''marvel'', no doubt they will sort it...they've got to, that doesn't help now though. genuine shame, feel for them after building years of strong reliable gt cars

Agree. I don't think anyone is leaving Porsche here. Except the guys driving the Fireballs. Right now the hard core guys that wanted manuals are pointing some heavy fingers in Porsche's direction. For the sake of profits and selling to the masses instead, they have a massive amount of "I told you so's" coming.

look after the gt boys!! I was recently at an event sitting next to a accountant who drove a c4s,he asked me what I was driving and I told him a 4.0 rs......he replyed '' whats that'' number crunchers stay away!!!!

Good question. Probably good arguments on both sides.
On the doubtful side, they are now selling to the masses instead of their hard core customer as well and it likely won't matter as they are after a bigger market than us.
On the yes side, the hard core people are pissed and this fuels the fire.
I would have thought the 991 GT3 might have made the older car market soften. The new GT3, if it doesn't catch on fire, is a huge bad ass. But with the fires added to no manual at this time, I think your 4.0 and 3.8 market gets even more solid.

are you surprised by this? I have been to Porsche dealers where grandmas and grandpas with panamera/cayenne saw my GT3-GT2 or other GT3s etc..and didnt know it was a Porsche..!!

Yes, the car has taken a value hit. It probably will rebound. Besides this one snafu, the car is a screamer on the track. If you have a turbo or other studly car, you can't hang with this thing. It's serious when they get it good.
Hi GTCole,

Of course I cant know how many parts are located where..but a few things:

1) Porsche doesnt know even itself to the last extent what the cause was

2) Once they know..they need to restart the "whole production process"..

3) For example, lets say it would the connecting rods - so 780 cars x 6/rods per engine...they would need to be produced first, shipped etc.

4) Testing: no time for that .

Conclusion: Min 4 weeks..even 4 weeks is impossible...ask someone in the automotive industry..how much time is needed in advance for these things..

PS: By all means - keep the current cars you have -especially the 997 GT2RS - dont change it for a 991 GT3 or 991 GT3RS..- my advice..
