"At Porsche we are rigorous when implementing an engineering solution, therefore, after the successful testing and validation we will be installing new engines with optimized piston rod screw connections in all 2014 Porsche 911 GT3 vehicles."
Lol, wish they were as rigorous when they made the car to begin with.

Car manufacturers have something called "testing"..the purpose is to find mistakes and to correct them before the car is released to the market..

Man, you cant be serious? How many millions of car engines out there and running? Even are oldtimers - 40 years old - are still running..and now we are in 2014, have internet, can fly to Mars..but Porsche (150K car) cant built an engine that runs? Im not even talking about this engine to win the 24 Le Mans...

How many new cars burst into flames or have problems in first model years? Alot!
Lambos, Ferraris, Mercedes, BMW...the list go on and on.
Even low power engines fail...now think about exotics...
Porsche is known for reability...but this time they made a mistake. Nobody is perfect.

True. They aren't perfect. Society expects everyone and everything to be perfect. That's not reality. But, I am siding with Mike S here. Of all cars, they test the crap out of this one. And it's a screw that causes you to get a new engine? That sounds really peculiar to me.

Since many are wondering, I didn't take my car. There is a lot to that story, but for some reason I didn't feel good. A friend of mine bought the car, and he has had trouble with the car since purchase. I'm not saying much more, but I'm glad it isn't mine. I generally have crappy luck, but not this time. I was lucky.
