Everyone remembers the mistakes. Not the good.
Granted, with respect due to Porsche, offering a brand new motor immediately to the customer is a full assault attack on the problem. And a good one. Of all things, it's the motor. And that creates a stigma with the car for life.

So the car goes from being "Made in Germany" to "Assembled in XYZ."
If I were them, I'd rather offer clients the options of a buy back and re-order the car.

agreed.....it will never feel the same, I personally would like the option of my money back or a new car to start a fresh experience....I'm sure all the cost of this is covered by a product insurance of some kind. this offer would help re build the bridge's that are broken. wonder what happens if the customer isn't happy with the engine swap!

Maybe Porsche could offer all 785 MY14 GT3 owners new MY15 GT3's as replacements. An extended warranty could be offered as compensation.
Porsche could then offer the MY14's to the secondary market sans engine for $65K to help offset costs.
How does that sound?
