how's all this going to affect re sale on these cars,it will put people on the back foot....hope it's resolved and buried before rs comes along, I take it they wont even start making noises on that car until the ghosts go away! but saying that I'm sure that model will be tied into some form of homologation for racing pretty soon.

I don't think their response is going to make anyone happy.
I think resale is a problem on that car. Actually, due to their many models and changes, the resale of a Porsche overall has increasingly become worse. Mine are easily a ton off in value over the last while. Or more. Dealers bought too many models, can't sell them, and VW is pushing for production.

you and I sing off the same sheet, 10/12 years ago you could run a gt3/rs for a year and loose £10,000 or $15,000 I was happy with that for a decent years motering and fun....not sure what the future holds? being at Geneva at the weekend seemed to bring it home, even though they had the le man car and the rsr it didn't feel special like it used to, as though you were part of a special club!! or maybe I'm getting old, as I have said I'm going for the new lambo and there close knit set up reminds me how Porsche used to be...familiar faces on first name terms. I like that.

I fully agree with what you write - its VW that has screwed Porsche, Porsche isnt Porsche anymore, its VW with a Porche badge, the whole company is working under VW processes..
Have you seen the depreciaton of the 991 Models? Terrible..now with this technical and additional problem of the 991 GT3, it wont do better.
I havent ordered a 991 GT3 - best decision of my life, if I did - I would get out now when its still possible, even if they get the engine fixed in 3 month, 1 month later something else will blow up, the question is: as an owner - are willing to go through this over and over again, frustration in forums, frustration when driving (when something breaks etc) - I would just get out here and move on..otherwise this will continue forever..

sorry jumping horse I hadn't forgotten your comments just following up on coles last input. seems we all agree, I still really want my rs next year but seriously having my doubts, I just don't need another bad car for what ever reason from Porsche, its my years of being a Porsche man keeping me hanging in there! goldencrust ale used to sit proudly sponsoring a gt3 cup car in the Carrera cup gb,not sure how long that will carry on for either!!

They have a big problem to fix. Maybe they can. I don't know. It might not be so bad if they hadn't just pissed off everyone by not doing the manual. I think I can buy a manual Hyundai. It's not an involving car. Why the hell wouldn't they let me have a manual GT3? Why wouldn't they listen when all the Forums were bitching. Porsche reads all of this. They monitor all the Forums. I just don't get it. No manual for the purists plus a burning motor equals disaster.

As has been said above, Porsche has really gone a far way off track from when they were an independent company. Nothing about their cars (most) really seem all that special anymore.
