Rapid is the first word that comes to mind after seeing that. Looks like all the manufacturers are really stepping up.

I will eventually buy one, just don't know if I can give up the old school manual car for it.
Also the production numbers will be high, which will cause used market to fall in mid term.
Maybe wait for the RS ?
I liked how everything worked out with the 997.2 RS. Lower production numbers, prices was right and still really strong.

I love a manual as much as the next guy. After two reviews who both say when you're out in the GT3 pushing it, you wont miss the manual because it is that good... no way the purists can hate this car..

for sure the new automatic GT3 will work perfectly but they could have a manual option for us.
there are two reasons for that
1. it is more expensive the car and repairs in automatic gearboxes.....means more earns.
2. they will reduce the expenses in warranty engines blown because of the well known 52 error

Would be nice, but I doubt it. Maybe on a 991.2 special edition with a $50k premium, but judging from the praise this car is getting, and how stubborn Porsche has been with the PDK, I wouldn't expect any different transmission other than the one now, or improved versions of it.

All these guys have to be under these companies payrolls.
Every car they test is "the best car they've ever driven"

I am interested to see how the purists react now that Steve and Chris Harris gave their 2 cents

If you know you're not on the payroll, then go drive the car and report back.

Bet you say the same thing!

What is it with people who refuse to accept change? I remember when a friend of mine got an iphone in 07." What a moron" I thought. A computer a phone together, he is going to drop it and break it and what will the point have been!

Look at it now. I am on my 3rd iPhone in 5 years.

The "purists" need to get over it. Who are the purists anyway? I think I am one.

You guys sound like my grandfather used to sound: when I was your age we had to walk to school uphill both ways in the snow! Why must everything be better because it is the old way. The purists probably think that the old hand crank engine is "more involving" so phooey those newfangled starter motors!

You can't shift as fast as the PDK. You are not as accurate as the PDK. Don't you guys keep installing "mods" to help you go faster? Short shifter, clutch stop, maybe a sequential shifter... cmon! How can you deny the technology! Because it isn't as involving? Go drive the car and report back. End of story.
