Bet you say the same thing!

What is it with people who refuse to accept change? I remember when a friend of mine got an iphone in 07." What a moron" I thought. A computer a phone together, he is going to drop it and break it and what will the point have been!

Look at it now. I am on my 3rd iPhone in 5 years.

The "purists" need to get over it. Who are the purists anyway? I think I am one.

You guys sound like my grandfather used to sound: when I was your age we had to walk to school uphill both ways in the snow! Why must everything be better because it is the old way. The purists probably think that the old hand crank engine is "more involving" so phooey those newfangled starter motors!

You can't shift as fast as the PDK. You are not as accurate as the PDK. Don't you guys keep installing "mods" to help you go faster? Short shifter, clutch stop, maybe a sequential shifter... cmon! How can you deny the technology! Because it isn't as involving? Go drive the car and report back. End of story.
Im on neither's side.
Im not a Porsche purist nor a guy who thinks this is the greatest car ever.
If anything i am all for new tech.
My only complaint is, for a guy (Steve Sutcliffe) who has driven them all from Fiat 500's to McLarens to Bugatti Veyrons SS', i just find it unfair to call this new GT3 the best car he's ever driven. Hence my payroll comment.
Maybe im nitpicking at a small detail in this review or maybe he said it out of emotion, but i have heard him make that exact same comment about many other cars.

Speaking about purists, the fun part of driving with three pedals is that you have to use both feet and hands, automatic cars can shift faster than manuals but there is no fun at all. Last week I drove a new Zero Motorcycle 100% electric, no clutch, so one hand not used. really weird feeling with my unused left hand.So I consider more fun to drive manual cars, it doesn´t matter if I shift slower than automatics, No ofense but sportcars meant to be sporty by making your whole body interact. An automatic Porsche can be driven by any fat women in freeways........

Check your sources.
A new clientele and new profile of buyers are now able to have a GT3 due to PDK.
Supply and demand, pure and simple.
Just mark my words maybe you won't be able to walk in a dealership at this first moment and buy the car, but once the craziness of 'I have to have the first one' is over you will walk in and get your example.
I personally have no desire of taking the first hit with a car that WILL depreciate considerably. Will most likely wait for the new RS.

I understand your point but IMHO if you are looking for more interaction and fun at lower speeds then you might not be the demographic for a GT3 with PDK. You are probably better off in a 993 or a 997. The GT3 is designed with laptimes in mind. If the goal is get around the track faster then PDK is the best choice. I agree wholeheartedly that it isn't quite as involving but I would gladly trade in some of that for a better laptime. Now if you aren't going to track it then its a mute point - just get a 911S with a 7 spd Manual.

Purists don't hate this car. They just hate not having the option. I'm sure the car itself is fine and is super fast. I'll wait for the 991.2 RS. and see how that is
