I have both. The 991 is probably faster, but the 4.0 is infinitely more characterful, fun to drive, and engaging. The PDK in the 991 is frustrating. Neither of the two automatic modes is drivable. The regular setting has you in 7th at 45mph, the sport mode is a track setting which has odd software - it won't downshift under heavy acceleration - apparently so as not to upset the car coming out of a turn on track. VERY irritating.

Agreed. Somewhere along the way Porsche lost the plot. Even Ferrari knows better than to put a different engine and transmission from their 458 Challenge car into the street 458.
