The flagship needs to be lighter. 3,800lbs is just not acceptable. I am sure this will be a great car but the industry really needs to take stuff out and leave it out, not make everything lighter and then add a several hundred pound hybrid system.

if this car weighed less than 3,000lbs. and had ~650hp. it would be my absolute dream car.

But really.. i see no use for the hybrid system other than pulling out of your driveway in the morning without pissing off your neighbors.

Its not under 3000 lbs but close enough (3200 lbs @ 640hp).

 

Other than the cost of the car, I do believe in this car is where the future leads. I am sure this is not the car for everyone, but not everyone will be able to afford it. so for those complaining about this car, u probably won't be able to get one in hand, since its probably sold out already..... lets just wait and see some crazy figures on Nurburgring....

 

You guys need to watch the video again and pay attention when they compare the 959 and F40.

This car is a showcase of new technology and everything new that will be applied on the next cars. And if you a part of this will have to pay a lot of money. Don't hate just because you cannot afford or saying is to heavy.

exactly. hit it right on the head. 959 is STILL more advanced than some new cars today. i expect the 918 will be the same in 20 years too honestly. porsche isnt trying to just flex a muscle by throwing a ton of power in there, they're trying to prolong the iconic sports car for future porsche models. change is inevitable, but porsche was ahead of the curve in designing this car. everyone is entitled to their opinon, so this is mine
