I have a feeling that US guys value Manuals that much cause besides giving more feedback, fun etc. it also is something special to know how to drive a Manual properly, especially a heavy clutch sportscar MT...

in Europe it`s the other way round everyone drives Manuals..and the AT cars are "luxury"

But concerning the MT of (real) sportscars in everyday traffic....
I think it`s a total waste of nerves and clutch thickness to willingly opt for a MT if you have to sit in traffic jams 90% of your time...I`d rather have an auto for that and do the real (manual ) driving in my spare time or on weekends

Every time I drive a rental in traffic I wish I had a manual.

It is simply unnatural to have a car creep forward without any driver input.

And I drove the GT2 quite hard along with lots of time sitting in traffic over 36K miles and 3 years, and the clutch was still perfect.

For us in Americans where practically nobody, even supposed enthusiasts can drive manual cars, having a car like this spec'ed with a proper transmission is something special.

Funny how every single manual or PDK thread deteriorates into a manual vs. auto/PDK/DCT debate.

I will take a 3rd pedal 99.9% of the time. But I will have to admit the one and ONLY time I wish I had an autotragic was in L.A. traffic. Rush hour trying to get north of the city from OC + truck fire = sore left leg, hoarse voice from cursing at the top of my lungs for 3 hours trying to just get out of L.A.
Good thing I don't live anywhere near that godforsaken town anymore.

Or...no left foot....

I need PDK, unfortuantly...however it is an awesome sequential transmission.

If Preuninger is serious about one transmission, I still think GT3 will be Manual and RS will be PDK (will help them make the RS faster on the Ring). Then as a limited edition at the end of the model's production, they might offer an RS with a Manual (and/or a GT3 with PDK).
