This might not sit well with some - 2013 GT3 May be PDK Only

...
Jus to clarify... When we say PDK (with paddle shift) vs manual gear box AND when we refer to Porsche's latest racing cars (997 R € RSR), we are confusing the issue. PDK as it's name indicates refer to a dual clutch gear box equipped with paddle shift. That's what it is. When we talk about RSR and others yes, they all have paddle shift now BUT it's not a PDK but a SEQUENTIAL gear box equipped with paddle shifts replacing the stick. Life span: 30 hours! Not for street going cars!

i once had a black and white tv!!! thats all i knew ,if and when they bring the pdk to gt3 etc it will be right, we all know the difference from the race car set up to street car but the principals are there this new box would have been tested to suit the most hardcore track day guy!i still beleive once its out there everyone will rave about it and say why have we waited so long for it,they could have put it in 997,but when i spoke to andreas at goodwood launch of the 4.0 about general stuff ie design tweeks etc he made a stong point of saying the 4.0 wasn't a new model!!now with the 991 we may see a lot of the stuff we thought we were going to see in the 4.0,inc the new pdks system and possible design tweeks to make rs stand alone ,i hope anyway.always been a issue that you could be sitting in a 130k turbo s with the same interior as a bog standard carrera for half the value! lets get it bang on from choice of gearbox right up to the design imput

And just saying, remember when the 7 speed manual was introduced, Porsche said as long as there is a demand for a manual transmission, they will offer a manual transmission.
