RSS: "The Colonel" GT3-RS
For those of you not familiar with "The Colonel" this should bring you up to speed. Starting with a recap of the first build, which was done some time ago, we will take you thru to the second build which is currently underway.
Part 1. (Recap)
“The Colonel”
This Particular 997.2 GT3RS was shipped to RSS/Stuttgart Performance from the South. “The Colonel” as he is known, asked that we build it to NASA Spec. This class has a strict weight to horse power ratio that must be maintained in order to run the series.
This should be an interesting build, with a few surprises along the way. Stay tuned for a Southern Fried GT3 RS build…
Waiting its turn....

Recaro Seat Upgrade
While the factory carbon buckets are very nice, they are quite uncomfortable when using a Hans Device, especially for drivers over 6ft tall. Since this RS will will see 90% track duty, we opted for the proper seats. These seats also prove a weight advantage.

We installed the RSS Seat Base Kit to mount the seat as low as possible while retaining seat slider functionality.
RSS Seat Base Kit: (Part #925)
- Designed to work specifically with Recaro sliders and uprights
- Precise fitment for 986/987/996/997 chassis floor pan
- Allows low seating position for taller drivers

Lightweight Exhaust
The Colonel is after some considerable weight loss so he requested the Shark Werks 997 GT3 Track Exhaust which shaves a real 57 lbs. off the rear and adds a very aggressive sound.
It replaces the factory center section and side mufflers while utilizing the factory headers and catalysts...
We will grab a few sound clips toward the end of the build...
The Shark Werks Track Exhaust is really clucking light...
Ready to go:
