Can't wait to see the finished product...

One question - is it more cost-effective and functional to just buy a used Cup car if the owner is planning so many track-specific modifications? Seems like it might be a smarter way to go. If the car were 50/50 street/track, then the RS is a no-brainer.

Keep in mind Chris that the Cup Car requires engine rebuilds and much higher level of maintenance than a regular street driven GT3/RS. It's also much harder to drive seeing that these 997 based Cup cars come with no ABS and sequential shifting. The average track day enthusiast is better off sticking to a street based car.

+1.

The cost of the car is the least of your problems. A front running Cup Car is big bucks, way more than any street/track car.

RSS Tarmac Series Stage-2 Suspension Upgrade

"Power is nothing without control". This RS will have no problem putting the power down, generating high levels of lateral grip and providing precise handling and feedback to the driver with the RSS Tarmac Stage-2 Suspension System upgrade.

OE Rubber vs. RSS Tarmac Series Solid Mount 2-Piece Lower Control Arm

RSS TARMAC Series Control Arms

“Tarmac Series 2-Piece Lower Control Arms”. These arms have been designed for the Porsche Driver who demands the absolute maximum in precision handling and feedback from their chassis. The TARMAC system has been engineered to provide unmatched performance, quality, strength and serviceability.

The RSS Tarmac Series Control Arms were engineered to address the performance related short comings of the OEM rubber mounted suspension components which were designed to reduce road noise and vibration for everyday street use. The use of rubber injected moldings in mounting components such as the Control Arms, Thrust Arms, Upper Links and Toe Arms is a compromise in regards to maximum suspension performance as soft durometer rubber deflects under suspension load which in turn causes unwanted movement (deflection) between the suspension and chassis resulting in unnecessary corrections and inputs from the driver.

Features & Benefits

• Completely Serviceable: For the extreme, repetitive track-day participant, our high-strength steel alloy spherical bearings (with a friction reducing/longevity increasing Teflon liner) can be replaced unlike the motorsports arm, in which case the customer will have to buy a new set of arms if the spherical bearings are worn.

• Adjustable Suspension Geometry: Adjust dynamic camber values and roll center heights with our unique zinc-plated steel bushings.

• Solid Monoball Control Arm Ends: Offers a more responsive suspension over the factory one-piece rubber-injected control arm (also uses the same high strength steel alloy spherical bearing found in our control arm monoball kit).

• Control Arms Manufactured from 6061 Aerospace Grade Billet Aluminum: This allows for a more uniform molecular structure at every point of the arm over the cast motorsports arm giving the customer a more durable and inherently stronger part. Manufacturing from billet aluminum rather than casting results in fewer impurities in the metal.

• Unique Design: provides more gusseting over the motorsports arms for added strength and an aesthetically pleasing look.

• Anodized Aluminum Surface and Zinc-plated Steel Parts: Allows for better corrosion resistance against the elements.
