as always porsche always comes to the party last, and in approx two years time when they develope the new engine with the 991 gt3, rs, whats happening now will be forgotten as evolution moves forward, at present we have no gear box to compare ,only what were used to .last year at sebring the flying lizard no1 car was running paddles...??? and i'm sure once they get it right we will all be amazed how it will enhance the overall package, as long as they offer a manuel alternative .

On the other side 991's wheel base is longer which is not just the best thing for a "race" car...

2014 Porsche 911 GT3 RS: The Design
First, the rear body work is widened, and the shoulders have a much more curvaceous tone. The exhausts are now positioned at the center, and there are two diffuser assets on either side of the exhaust. Below the exhaust and diffuser outlets sits a very aggressive carbon fiber diffuser derived from the 911 GT3 RSR. Moving up the rear bumper, the license plate area is slightly higher to allow more room for the large center exiting exhausts. On either side of the plate are are two large air outlets which allow for hot air from the exhaust system to escape. Moving even further up the rear, there are three mesh covered slats sitting just below the spoiler. These are here for additional cooling and airflow to the underlying systems. Finally, to top it all off, a large ducktail spoiler has placed over the automatic spoiler (which is now gone). Apart of the new ducktail is now a very large air box taking the place of the 2 vents on the base models. On top of the ducktail sits a very large racing style rear wing. It takes its inspiration from the RSR and R race cars. The wing isn't taller than the 997 RS's (just wider), but because the placement of the wing is higher on the 991, the wing appears much larger.
