2013 Porsche 991 GT3/GT3 RS - What do you want to see?

We all know it's in the works and we are all scratching our heads wondering how in the devil is Porsche going to top the 997 GT3 swan song, the uncompromisingly outstanding 4.0 Limited Edition that sports 500 ponies of naturally aspirated goodness under it's rear bonnet.

A few relatively educated guesses we can throw out are what? 450hp - 550hp, higher revving development of the 9A1? A light weight optional PDK-S? So we now open the floor to you, the buying public of this next generation street legal racer, what do you think we will see and more importantly what do you want to see!

PS - Big thanks to member "carrera" for the fantastic rendering!

Great thread idea DJ! This way Porsche has no excuse if they screw the next GT3 up.

I think a 4.0 450hp engine would be cool for the base GT3. PDK-S certainly sounds interesting as well. I can't wait to see what Porsche comes up with!

550hp
6speed manual (not 7 speed), pdk optional
5 lug wheels
On board gps based lap timer with segment setting ability and predictive lap timing
Active aero option
A non pasm susp that is worth leaving on the car
An improved diff option
Optional gearing and or ring and pinion selection
Just for starters

Oh and open rear calipers for changing pads without having to remove the caliper
Adjustable control arms
Monoballs

And since it is a wish list... Cockpit adjustable sway bars :-)

True paddle shifters, improved horsepower to weight ratio (preferably through weight reduction, although more power would also be welcome), shortened front and rear overhangs, lower center of gravity, wider track, lower final drive (quicker out of the corners), improved front to rear weight balance AND no damn cup holders. . . that's about it.

Sounds a lot like a cup car.

I like your thinking though. I think Porsche needs to go "backwards" with some of its cars and design like they did with the Spyder. Less weight - less gizmo's - less of what makes the new Porsches "new" and more of what made the "older" ones (996 GT3, 993 Turbo, 996 GT2, 997.1 RS, etc) so special.

I think a "bare" interior would be cool - sorta like a Scud that doesnt have carpet/etc in it. I also agree that a true 6 speed should be the tranny. No PDK on GT3/RS's in my opinion.

I want to see a GT2, but for some reason in the 991s I don't think there will be one. Looking forward to see the numbers of the 991 Turbo and to see what the 991 GT3 looks like. Great rendering.
