Is anyone going to this ?

Apparently we get a dinner with the designers then a tour around the facility and a close look at the car . There is a question and answer session with the designers and engineers as well as passenger rides in the 918 followed by a private museum tour and more food . It would be nice to put some faces to the names on here .

Sounds great , anyone ?

Is this event for the guys who put a deposit down?

 

Not sure really , think I got invite because of Carrera GT and other Porsche purchases . Speak to your opc maybe ?

I havent put a deposit down yet ( not convinced of the hybrid bit yet ) but still got invite ( so did another friend with no deposit ) so doubt its for depositors only .
It will be interesting to talk to the engineers , maybe its a Euro only thing . Ill try to take pics of what I can .

 

The event is for deposit payers and other "qualified" prospects.

Carrera GT ownership (as in bought from a dealer new) is one qualification. There may be others.

doom, you are seriously still considering?

 

Im leaving on the 26th and back in the UK on the 28th ( August ) .

My friend as we have discussed , It seems too digital for analogue wtdoom . Also I fear the hybrid tech ( still in its infancy ) will be extinct in no time at all . I am concerned about the 4wd etc etc . I dont mind the PDK because I am lucky enough to have the CGT , but although I think it looks stunning its not grabbing me by the danglies if you get my drift .
Having said all that my OPC has very kindly invited me out to this fantastic event ( they are confident when I talk to the engineers I will be a believer btw ) so I thought it was rude to decline ( and I am really looking forward to the experience ) . I feel very privileged for the invite so if nothing else I will have a great time ( I hope ) and have my mind put to rest one way or the other . To boldly go and all that ...
