while there might be a few coming here, they'll most likely be garage queens.

And the first buyers will take the biggest hit on depreciation again.....regardless of how many are made and what the allocations are...after 2.5-3yrs these 997 garage queens will be available at 30-40% off of MSRP....and many will have less than 5k miles. At the end of the day they are 997s and will depreciate just as fast as all 997s.....Gt3, Gt2, RS etc......then I will be in the market to look at buying one

While its our personal policy to NOT charge over MSRP, as Pete can attest-

when I was at the 2RS event there were several guys who paid over sticker for that car.
I can and will attest. In fact not only will I attest but I will give forth and vent as well!

Porsche N Olmstead, Chris Sanner and Chad Lozon is where I purchased the garage seen in my sig. Because...they offered me no BS, easy, fair deals every time.

Other dealers (you know who you are) choose to jam it up the ass of the prospective customer if they get a special car by asking for additional markup. Seeking the quick buck on a one time deal instead of earning a customer for life. The only reason I put out a "find me a 4.0 post" is because N Olmsted was honest with me and advised they may not receive an allocation. leaving no choice but to shop for a car elsewhere.

I would without reservation recommend anyone to buy a car from Stoppie. I would urge everyone to NEVER buy a car from price gouging dealers- if they will f uck you once they will surely do it over and over again. Think about it. Support those dealers that support the enthusiast community. And be sure to understand in crystal clear fashion, that just because a dealer bought a board sponsorship, doesn't mean they truly support the enthusiasts.

These are the times that define integrity vs rapacious gougers. I know what I have experienced and I will never forget it.

It's nice to hear of another dealer that doesn't get into that shit so well done N Olmsted. There are two dealers local to me - one is well known for charging over MSRP, promising allocations they don't have, etc. Makes me want to puke. I am glad the guy I worked for doesn't believe in over MSRP.

Good luck in your search. Wish I could help!

Of course, if one is willing to wait 2 or 3 years, almost any car will be 30 to 40% less, if not more. Imagine how much a 918 will be 3 years after delivery? Or even a GTO? Not just 997's. Pretty much any new car.

I think in the long run (10 years +), maybe, but in 2 to 3 years, i think it will be less then MSRP. Imagine when the 599 replacement comes out next year with 700+hp and double clutch and lists for $385K...

I highly doubt GTO's will be taking any hits unless they are thrashed. I.know of a used one for sale going for almost $200k over msrp. And it will sell easily.

Unless you have a 4.0 that is unique it won't surprise me to see them depreciate at a steady clip for a few years.
