MY GT2RS Homecoming Pics

Brought the 2RS home from the dealer and had a Mat film added to the hood and a std clear film added to many other body parts. Also took the car for it's first real drive. Overall, the 2RS is as advertised. Crazy quick. The PCCB's will make your eyes pop out of your head. Nice firm ride. Very 3RS type of handling. I hate to say this but for $270k I was underwhelmed. It's a great car, it just doesn't feel $270k special. Now I haven't hit the track yet, so not sure how much the car will come alive at 7 or 8/10ths. On the street it was very smooth. At 90mph, it felt like 60mph. The car goes from 40 to 100 in a blink. I definitely don't like the exhaust. I've owned 4 TT's, so I know not to expect much, but this exhaust is an annoying sound vs. the 3RS being intoxicating. I never used the radio with the 3RS. I cranked it up on the 2RS. I was really hoping to report a big WOW after my first drive. Instead I'll give it a quiet wow. We'll see what happens once I get it on the track.

Sorry to hear your relative disappointment, but boy does it look great...hope the car impresses you more on the track.

not exactly a ringing endorsement. at 270 i think these cars are priced incorrectly as im sure the market will bear out in the coming months. look at the scud & standard GT2. i felt the FGT was priced below where it should have been at launch and look where they are trading now.

Great looking car! I love the GT silver. Sorry you aren't completely thrilled, let us know what you think when you get it on the track!

Sorry to hear you're not as impressed as you'd like to be. Did your GTO make it home yet?

I think my opinion of the 2RS is all relative to cost. Without the $$ figured in, the car is really outstanding. In relative terms, for $300k, I could own a 3RS and a Turbo S. As much as I like the 2RS, I'm just not sure the driving experience is worth 2 other premiere Porsches. On the flip side there are only 130 or so 2RS in the US and it is the fastest Porsche production car ever. So the car has exclusivity and performance. I still think they will all sell out by June and prices will stabilize in the $225-$240k range for preowned. I'm not terribly disappointed, just underwhelmed. I've driven so many different sports cars at this point, that I think I've set the WOW factor bar very high.

As far as the GTO, it's all paid for, I'm just waiting for the Mat Clear Film, the Plates and the State Inspection. Should be home this coming Friday or Sat.
I've gone to visit it every few days just to make sure it's real.

I am sure the car is an unbelievable performer. I do agree $270k is a tad steep for it - hell of a lot of options in that range. You also do have a ridiculous garage so as you mention the bar is ridiculously high.

It actually does everything good. I think a day on the track will change my perspective. I've been reminded that my overwhelmingly positive opinion of my GT3RS was born from the track. I had 700 street miles and 1700 track miles when I sold that car. So even on the street, my track experience was biasing my opinion.
