You are missing a key piece of the puzzle. Launch control in a manual holds the RPM at the ideal launch level, even though you have the throttle to the floor. You sidestep the clutch and you go. No real timing involved like getting it on the upswing or anything like that. Of course, you still have to shift into second gear and beyond yourself.
