where is that placed? Could it be a battery cooling vent?

it's placed right above the engine. Wouldn't it be better for cooling if they just use normal vents? this construction just restricts the air flow.
or maybe they use it to charge the battery a little bit with the air flow?

It's there for cooling, and it's also a throwback to the 917.

Yes a fan is normally used for cooling however there has been no information on what it cools.
