remember the 996??! it doesnt even come close to the 997.
im sure the next normal model is miles ahead of the old 997, judging by all the money they made and technology improvements. A 997 RS would be just as fast as the next carrera S.
sad but true.
why ever buy a car if you live in fear a replacement will "outdate' it? if the car meets your specs today, buy it.

The 997 GT3RS is such a special car that it will be relevant years after the replacement comes out. Get it!

Get the car, enjoy it now. Or of Porsche does come out with another version, place a deposits and wait and see.

Or do both.

The next generation GT3RS is not around the corner.... so if thats what you are worried about, don't worry and get the car.
If its price then just look at your funds and decide if you can or cannot

Is the RS a great car? YES!!!
Is it for you, I don't know... was it not you who was complaining about the noise level in the Scuderia?

I drove the GT3RS the other day. What a fantastic car! I would love to have one in the next model variant. Got two 997's already, would be silly to have a 3rd.

Do it john!

Don't buy it. There's a limited edition 997.2 GT3RS coming soon with 500hp. You buy this RS and it will be dated in 6 months.

see! i love all the opinions and info we can get on this forum.

i dont like my scud's lack of carpeting, which the RS has.
im not sure why i would get a RS now, but maybe to replace my 996 GT2 finally.

An updated opinion: I think it's only too late when the next gen GT3 RS starts development. So, you still probably have another year before it starts development. So, go for it. Then further down the road you can trade it in.
