That's wrong. The GT3 in current production has the 3.8. The RS does too. I know tons of people, including me, that track the hell out of those cars and race them too.

He's asking about the "new" 9A1, DFI engines in the 997's and whether or not they're being raced. Which I've subsequently answered.
The engines in all GT2/3/RS's have the same engine block design which parenthetically dates back to the 964/993/GT1. An engine designed by the now mythological engineer Hans Mezger. Hence most call it the Mezger engine.
As for the 3.8L displacement, well there's nothing new there as Porsche has been using them since the early '90's.

Unfortunately the LE will probably come out with PCCB as standard...
In case I manage to have an allocation, I have already arranged with mi POD to replace PCCB with steel discs as soon as the car will be delivered...
